HowToAmzDownload – pymazon – A Python based downloader for the Amazon mp3 store. – Google Project Hosting

I love Amazon’s MP3 store. Probably more than I should! It is so easy to click the “Buy with 1-Click” button that is next to a song and *poof* there it is in my Amazon cloud drive, and playable via the Amazon Cloud Player. There is one big issue for those of us running a Linux distribution that isn’t 32-bit Ubuntu 9.04, then you are screwed. There’ve been many hacks to try to get the downloader to run, but most are either a pain in the ass or just plain don’t work.

Of course, since we are Linux uses, we know that someone will eventually come along and write their own solution. And that is exactly what SCColbert@gmail.com did. Hence, we have pymazon!

pymazon – A Python based downloader for the Amazon mp3 store.

Installation is surprisingly easy, it took all of 5 minutes for me to download, compile and install pymazon. I can definitely say it runs without problems on 64-bit Linux Mint Lisa (based on Ubuntu Oneiric).

Amazon MP3 fans, unite! And grab pymazon!
